  The prerequisites of a propeller depend on three factors: hydro-dynamic efficiency to obtain maximum thrust, structural strength to resist stress, coherence of its characteristics to those of the hull, engine and type of use the boat is bound to.

         
  The main advantage of folding blades propellers for sailing vessels is reducing propeller drag, when sailing, of about 90% compared with a fixed blades propeller. Eliche Radice manufactures 2 and 3 folding blades propellers, available in a wide range of diameters and pitches, for inch and millimeter shafts, right and left rotations, suitable for sail boats up to 14 m length for 2 blades folding and 20 m for 3 blades folding.
